1. What is kc?
In order to enable consumers to have a clearer understanding of the certification marks on the purchased products and to reduce the various certification costs incurred by the manufacturers of the products, in July 2009, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) began to implement and adopt the national unified KC. The logo, named "KC Mark", the new logo represents Korea Certification, and the current 13 mandatory signs in Korea will be unified under this new logo. One result of this initiative is that reducing the supplier's spending on certification fees has made Korea KC Mark gradually become a world brand certification.
The implementation plan of the KC logo is as follows:
December 2008: Amendment of the Basic Law of the National Standards and its enforcement orders;
July 2009: The Ministry of Knowledge Economy began to implement and adopt the national unified KC mark;
January 2009 to December 2010: Amendment of laws related to standard certification;
January 2011: Apply the KC logo to all certifications.
