1. What is GC?
GC Mark Certification is a market access certificate for products entering the GCC countries.
The Gulf Cooperation Council for Arab States is the most important political and economic organization in the Gulf region, referred to as the Gulf Cooperation Council or the GCC. The GCC was established in May 1981 and is headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The current member states include the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Since its establishment, the GCC members have fully taken advantage of the same language and religion, similar economic structure, and actively promoted the process of economic integration.
The establishment of the Gulf Standards Organization (GSO) promotes the process of economic integration, ensures the safety and quality of goods entering the GCC market, and participates in the development of production and services through various standard activities. In the field of standardization and conformity assessment, all products that have obtained the GC mark certificate can enter the market of the above seven countries. At present, GSO is actively unifying the standards and certification procedures of the seven countries, and has released unified toy technology regulations and low-voltage electrical equipment technical regulations.
