AP (United States) 1, what is AP
The AP (Approved Product) label confirms that the safety of art materials has been tested by toxicologists to prove that the ingredients do not contain enough ingredients to cause harm or toxic effects on the human body (including children), and will not cause acute or chronic effects on the human body. s damage. The AP label is replacing the original non-toxic label CP (Certified Product) and HL (Health Label).
The AP label demonstrates that ACMI-approved products meet the requirements of ASTM D 4236: Chronic Toxin Labeling Standard and Labeling of Hazardous Art Materials Act (LHAMA): Hazardous Art Materials Label. In addition, products with AP labels and performance certifications or CP labels are certified to meet the specific standards for materials, processes, quality of use, and color developed by ACMI and other standards bodies (such as ANSI, ASTM, etc.). Some products do not have a performance certificate because there is currently no standard for these products.
2. The process of obtaining an AP seal is generally divided into the following steps:
1. The consulting company assists the manufacturer to apply for membership to ACMI. This is a prerequisite for applying for certification (subject to product sales and other documents required at the time of application);
2. ACMI approves the membership of the manufacturer;
3. Under the guidance of the consulting company, the manufacturer applies to the ACMI-approved poison testing experts for product toxicity testing and obtains a test report;
4. The consulting company assists the manufacturer in submitting the test results to ACMI, and ACMI will review the results and certify the products.
