Kanban management is also called "kanban method" and "vision management". In the process management of industrial enterprises, the card is used as a voucher, and the management system for scheduled delivery is scheduled. " Kanban" is a card similar to a notice, mainly conveying information such as part name, production volume, production time, production method, delivery amount, delivery time, shipping destination, storage location, shipping tools and containers, etc. . Generally divided into: in-product kanban, it is used for fixed adjacent workshops or production lines; signal kanban, mainly used for fixed workshops or production lines; order kanban (also known as "outside kanban"), mainly for fixed collaboration Between the factories.
The JIT production method is a new production method that enables production to be carried out effectively in all aspects of the production system with the basic purpose of reducing costs. JIT also uses Kanban management tools, which play an important role as a clever connection to the nerves of each process.
The kanban management method is to transfer logistics or information flow between the same process or before and after the process. JIT is a pull-type management method, which needs to transfer information from the last process through the information flow to the next process. The carrier of the information transmission is the kanban. Without a Kanban, JIT is impossible. Therefore, JIT production methods are sometimes referred to as kanban production methods.
Once the main production plan is determined, production instructions will be issued to each production workshop, and then each production workshop will issue production instructions to the previous processes, and finally issue corresponding instructions to the warehouse management department and procurement department. The delivery of these production instructions is done through Kanban.
With the rapid development of information technology, the current kanban method has shown a trend of being gradually replaced by computers. Nowadays, the most popular MRP system is to replace the kanban between JIT production with a computer. Each process is networked, and the instruction is sent and the information communication between the processes is completed by computer.
At present, many companies in China are implementing MRP, but there are few real successes. The main reason is that enterprises directly implement MRP without implementing JIT. In fact, MRP is just a kind of software that computerizes many complicated manual operations. Although it can greatly improve production efficiency, it can't deal with some ideas and methods proposed by JIT. Therefore, MRP is just a tool and must be based on the implementation of JIT. If the company does not implement JIT and goes directly to MRP, it will only waste time and money.
Five principles:
When using Kanban as a management tool, the following five principles should be followed: (1) The post-process only receives the necessary number of parts in the forward process when necessary: the existing processes and methods need to be completely changed.
(2) The pre-process should only produce enough quantities to replenish the parts received by the post-process: under these two principles, the production system is naturally combined into a conveyor belt system, and the production time is balanced.
(3) Defective products are not sent to the post-process: there is no inventory in the post-process, and once the post-process is found, the defective product must be stopped, and the defective product is returned to the previous process.
(4) The number of kanbans used should be minimized: the number of kanbans, representing the maximum inventory of parts.
(5) Kanban should be used to accommodate small-scale demand changes: planned changes are naturally generated by the market's demand and production emergency, according to the number of kanbans removed.
