1. What is organic product certification?
The "Regulations on Certification and Accreditation of the People's Republic of China" stipulates that certification refers to the conformity assessment activities that the certification body certifies that the products, services, and management systems comply with the mandatory requirements or standards of relevant technical specifications and relevant technical specifications.
Organic product certification refers to the activities of the certification body to evaluate the production and processing of organic products in accordance with the National Standards for Organic Products and the Organic Product Certification Management Measures and the Organic Product Certification Implementation Rules. The organic products sold in China are subject to certification by the certification body approved by the National Certification and Accreditation Administration.
Simply put, organic products are products produced through organic farming systems. Organic products cover a wide range of topics, including:
1. Organic food - mainly refers to edible primary and processed foods such as food, vegetables, fruits, dairy products, livestock and poultry products, aquatic products, beverages and spices;
2. Organic agricultural production materials, such as organic fertilizers, biological pesticides, etc.;
3. In addition, there are organic cosmetics, textiles, forest products, etc., collectively referred to as organic products.
The majority of organic products are organic foods. Organic foods are environmentally-friendly safe foods that do not use synthetic substances such as pesticides, fertilizers, and hormones during production and processing. It is combined with green food and pollution-free food to form China's safe food.
In the "Implementation Opinions on the Comprehensive Action Plan for the Pollution-free Foods", the Government of China stated that: starting in 2002, we will comprehensively promote the "Non-Pollution Food Action Plan" across the country, and strive to achieve basic consumption in about five years. Agricultural products are produced without pollution and ensure consumer safety. Local and enterprises with conditions should actively develop green and organic food.
Organic product certification standards stipulate that chemically synthesized pesticides, fertilizers, growth regulators, feed additives, and genetically engineered organisms and their products should not be used in the production of organic products. The certification of such products is the organic product certification. The third-party certification company guarantees the products through its own reputation, and proves that the organic products are produced, processed and conformed to the standards.
